Why is Woodland Management so Important?
Over time there has been greater human intervention with every passing generation, leading us to where we are now – some royal hunting forests, some ancient woodland, and much managed woodland, mostly for timber, but occasionally for woodland livestock. As a result of this, the biodiversity of our woodlands reflects this constant management, with differing species of flora and fauna thriving in different types of woodland.
Being Amongst Trees is Good for Us!
We have a responsibility, as custodians of the woodlands, to not only manage (and where appropriate to restore it) our woodland, to plant more of it, and to bring more people into it. Studies show that being amongst trees is good for us!
