The Roots Company is a tree surgery and tree care company based from Bristol and Frome. We operate across the South West of England.
We are a team of experienced, certified and conscientious tree surgeons who share a love for all woody and herbaceous plants.
We take pride in knowing that our arborists not only carry out their work with an outstanding level of skill and precision, but also have an excellent understanding of the individual tree species they work on and the woodland environments they work in.
We strive to further our knowledge and understanding of arboriculture and ecology and we encourage our team of tree surgeons to develop their passion for plants and wildlife. We’re always keen to evolve our practical skills and knowledge of the latest operational techniques and equipment to ensure our tree surgeons’ work is carried out to the finest standards.

Our Head Arborist Greg – ascending a giant Black Pine (Pinus nigra) when he worked at Westonbirt Arboretum as a member of their Tree Team.
We have the specialist equipment necessary to carry out a full range of Arboricultural/Tree Surgery operations. Professionally and carefully handling all domestic and commercial contracts, from the small and shrubby to the majestic giants.
Each of our Tree Surgeons hold full City and Guilds NPTC certification for tree works and have an Arboricultural education to at least Level 2 standard.
We are insured through Trust Insurance for Public Liability to £5 Million and for Employer’s Liability to £10 Million. Certificates available on request.
All of our work is carried out in accordance with the British Standard for Tree Work – BS 3998:2010.
